Dark Visions Review

Yey Yey Yey Yey!
What a book!

Dark Visions by L.J Smith. As you already knew I am a huge fan of her writing already...this has just cemented by faith in her all over again.
There are three books in one in this book and it is great being able to go on to the next story straight away without having to wait!

The Strange Power/The Possessed/The Passion
Kaitlyn Fairchild has always felt like an outsider. Her haunting eyes and prophetic drawings have earned her the reputation of a witch: she's psychic. Tired of being shunned, Kait accepts an invitation to attend Zete's Institute, where she can study with other physic teens and have a fresh start

As Kaitlyn learns to hone her abilities with four other gifted students, she starts to discover the intensity of her power - and the joy of having true friends. But those friendships quickly become more complicated when Kait finds herself torn between two irresistable guys. Rob is a healer - kind and gentle, he's surrounded by good energy, while Gabriel is aggressive and mysterious - a telepath concealing his true nature.

Together Rob and Gabriel's opposing forces start to threaten the group's stability, and when an experiment traps the five teens in a psychic link - a link that threatens their sanity and their lives - Kaitlyn must decide who to trust and who to love...

Now, the blurb...annoys me. It isn't at all focused on the two guys, nor is the psyhic link bad, L.J Smith makes it out as a good thing in the book, and the romance part of it is very minor compared to the actual story. It is an amazing story, with an incredible twist I didn't see coming. And it is very obvious that L.J Smith did her research for this book!

I adore Rob and Gabriel but I knew what was going to happen in that area before I'd even finished reading the back of the book, it is very predictable in that area. The other two teens, Lewis and Anna are great, quiet and very much supporting characters, but without them this story would be impossibly serious and dreadfully boring...
There are a whole host of characters that were great, Marisol and Lydia are just two of them, written well and I could have got a long with all of them, although Gabriel would be the one I was closest to out of everyone because there are just some of his comments that made me melt, and laugh, and agree with. Some of his actions on the other hand...not so much but you know, it's a great book.

I really recommend it, if a slightly paranormal twist is what you need, without Vampires and Werewolves fighting over a girl.
